The Team

 

GDK Optimus team consists of high caliber professionals with long experience in the auditing, tax accounting, advisory and regulatory fields. Each individual has in-depth knowledge and vast experience in their respective segment of the market and is deemed to be an influential player in that area of expertise.

All professionals of the team have advised on some of the largest transactions which have taken place in or through Cyprus and are well equipped and connected to handle the challenging times all businesses are facing. They have dealt with simple and complex structures in a number of jurisdictions and besides the standard general tax and transfer pricing issues they have managed tax due diligence projects for both buyers and vendors, providing tax memorandums on corporate tax and transactional tax issues analyzing cross border structures and financing transactions.

The team is led by Mr. George Droushiotis, who founded GDK Optimus Audit Services Limited after a 10-year professional career with a Big Four audit firm. He initially joined the Audit and Assurance Department of Ernst & Young Cyprus specializing in the financial services sector, and after becoming an audit manager he pursued a tax career within the firm.

As a tax manager he was in charge of many prestigious clients of the firm in a variety of sectors including:

  • Leading Financial Institutions and insurance companies
  • International Petroleum companies
  • Russia’s largest shipping group of companies
  • International construction companies (dealing with the construction of both international airports of Cyprus)
  • Leading Russian Real Estate Development group of Companies
  • International chains of retails stores, DIY stores and many others

During this period he focused on international tax structure projects for multinational corporations, executing tax due diligence projects on the Buyers’ and Vendors’ sides for several clients in various industries, and advising clients on transfer pricing issues. Five years later, he envisaged the establishment of GDK Optimus Audit Services Ltd.

Mr. Droushiotis holds a bachelor degree in Business Administration with specialization in Accounting and Financial Management and is a qualified Chartered Accountant. He is a practicing member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Cyprus (ICPAC) and has lectured Chartered and Certified accountants’ students on Cyprus taxation.

With his relentless passion and attention to detail, he is the driving force behind the team of professionals who strive to implement the vision of the firm without losing focus on the four pillars upon which it was founded.
